Congratulations to the Class of 2017 on its commencement! The 227 graduates and their families gathered at Monmouth University on June 5th to begin the day with their Baccalaureate Mass celebrated by Bishop David M. O'Connell. Celebrating the Mass with the bishop were St. James pastor Monsignor Philip A. Lowery, Rev. Mark Nillo and Rev. Ariel Robles, also of St. James, with music performed by the Red Bank Catholic choir.
The commencement exercises that afternoon featured addresses by the class valedictorian, Isobel Murrir and salutatorian Carolyn Davin. Isobel will be attending Notre Dame School of Engineering and Carolyn will attend Notre Dame School of Science. The keynote address was given by Principal Robert Abatemarco. The RBC Chamber Choir performed musical selections, including the Alma Mater when the graduates were inducted into the Red Bank Catholic Alumni Association, joining over 10,000 fellow alumni who share the honor of calling themselves Caseys.
The class included 178 graduates who received over $32,549,000 in academic scholarships from colleges and universities nationwide.
